San Jose Japantown Lions Club and San Jose Buitsuin
The San Jose Japantown Lions Club, in partnership with the San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin, is a dedicated group of volunteers committed to serving the community through leadership, compassion, and meaningful service. As part of Lions Clubs International, we work closely with local partners and proudly support youth organizations such as Scouts, helping develop future leaders through mentorship, hands-on service, and community involvement. Together, we foster a spirit of teamwork, responsibility, and giving back. Through this collaboration, we organize and participate in a variety of initiatives including fundraising events, food fairs, outreach programs for those in need, youth development activities, health and wellness efforts, and cultural events that bring the community together. There are many ways to support our mission you can help by purchasing from our fundraisers, volunteering at events, donating to our programs, partnering with us, or becoming a member of the club.
We meet in person on the 2nd Thursday of select months (January–May, July, August, October, November) at 6:30 PM at the Issei Memorial Building, 565 N 5th St, San Jose, CA.
In June, September, and December, we meet at 6:00 PM at Guadalupe Emergency Interim Housing to share meals and fellowship through special events like our Ice Cream Social, BBQ, and Holiday Potluck.
We also meet via Zoom every 4th Thursday (January–October) at 6:30 PM.
