What We Do
Service in Action, From Japantown to the World
At the Japantown Lions Club, our mission is more than words — it’s hands-on, heartfelt, and deeply rooted in the needs of our community. Through impactful events, ongoing projects, and creative fundraisers, we support causes that matter: youth programs, elder care, vision screenings, food drives, cultural preservation, disaster relief, and more.
Whether we’re hosting a festival, sponsoring scholarships, or showing up where help is needed most — we do it with unity, compassion, and pride in our Japantown heritage.

We organize and participate in a wide variety of initiatives throughout the year — from annual cultural celebrations and health clinics to local clean-ups, holiday meals, and Lions Club-wide campaigns. Every event we host is a chance to connect, uplift, and make a difference

The Japantown Lions Club was founded to uplift, preserve, and empower the San Jose Japantown community through dedicated volunteer service.
As part of Lions Clubs International, we carry forward a global mission with a deeply local heart — from supporting youth programs and seniors to cultural preservation and disaster relief.
We are proud to be part of one of the oldest Japan towns in the United States, and we continue to serve with compassion, commitment, and pride in our heritage.
